5 Exercises To Tone The Neck And Reduce Double Chin In A Short Time

The neck region and, more specifically, the double chin, affect the self-esteem of many people on a daily basis. This is a region that can accumulate fat or become flabby due to constant weight gain and loss.

Double chin can arise due to being overweight, but there are also some cases where the problem appears because of genetic factors. Losing weight can help tone your neck and reduce double chin, but it won’t necessarily make it go away.

Unfortunately, when we lose weight, we cannot choose the specific location from which we want to eliminate fat and sagging. Therefore, it  may be that even people with a healthy weight have a slightly flabby neck and a slight jowl.

Even so, it is worth maintaining healthy lifestyle habits, such as a balanced diet and regular physical activity, in order to have a more toned neck region.

In addition, fortunately, we can count on some specific exercises able to help us to firm up the area and get rid of this problem that is so bothersome from an aesthetic point of view.

So, we’ll talk here about  five exercises that can help tone your neck and reduce your double chin in a short time.

The exercises are focused on working the muscles of the face and neck so that we can keep them strong and toned.

Exercise No. 1

This first exercise focuses on chin movements.

It stretches and tones muscles in the jaw, neck and throat. It’s super easy to do:

Sit or stand upright. Let your head fall back until you are looking at the ceiling. Then purse your lips as if you want to kiss the ceiling.

While doing this movement, be careful not to tense other muscles in the face: focus only on the lips. Keep them contracted for 5 seconds and then relax. Repeat between 5 and 10 times in a row.

Exercise No. 2

This exercise tones and stretches your facial muscles.

Sit or stand upright. Inhale deeply and slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth, with your lips parted.

While doing this, move your jaw as if you were chewing some imaginary food.

When you have finished exhaling, open your mouth as far as you can, inhaling and exhaling again, this time with your mouth open.

Repeat the two steps between 5 and 10 times.

Exercise No. 3

This option, in addition to toning the muscles, also relieves tension in the shoulders and can reduce any pain in the region.

Again, stand up straight whether sitting or standing. As you inhale, slowly move your head to one side until your chin almost touches your shoulder, looking at the side in question.

As you exhale, gently return to the starting position until your chin is close to your chest. Then, do the same for the other side and repeat both steps between 5 and 10 times.

Exercise No. 4

This exercise is focused on the platysma muscle, known as the neck muscle. It extends from the jaw to the shoulders, and exercising helps to keep the chin and throat region toned.

To do the exercise, stand up straight, whether sitting or standing.

The idea is to try to give an inverted smile, as if we were going to imitate a sad face.  Touch your lips to your teeth and make the corners of your mouth move down.

Then open your mouth gently and activate your jaw muscles. In the meantime, you will notice how the tendons in your neck will move forward and you will be able to feel them easily if you place your hand on your neck. Repeat between 5 and 10 times.

Exercise No. 5

The latter is the easiest.

This is a yoga exercise for the neck, which tightens and tones the skin under the chin.

Just stick your tongue out and say “Ahhhh” as if you were at a doctor’s appointment. Keep your tongue out, tense your chin and keep the rest of your face relaxed. Hold the position for 60 seconds.
