Many people have suffered from bad breath at some point in their lives. This usually occurs in the morning, when our mouths have accumulated bacteria, and can be resolved by brushing our teeth and tongue well. However, sometimes the problem is more serious, so we will show you simple remedies to eliminate bad breath.

Bad breath or halitosis

Bad breath or halitosis is usually caused by poor oral hygiene. Bacteria build up and release sulfur, which makes the mouth smell bad.

There are foods that are more likely to give us bad breath:  those that make our breath worse are garlic bread, coffee, and cigarettes (although it is a habit, not a food).

If your bad breath or halitosis is constant and unpleasant,  then it is advisable to see a doctor.

Breath can smell in different ways. According to the smell we can have one problem or another. For example, if it smells like feces or vomit it could be an intestinal blockage, if it smells fruity it could be too much acetone. If, on the other hand, it smells like ammonia or fish, it could be due to a kidney problem.

Bad breath can occur due to dental problems, gingivitis, cavities and dentures. In addition, consuming certain foods such as cabbage, garlic or raw onions, coffee and other beverages, smoking and consuming alcohol also contribute to the condition intensifying.
