However, if we learn to differentiate good butter from margarine, we can enjoy this food and enjoy its benefits.

Vitamins

It is a beneficial food for stimulating fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Vitamin A is considered essential for strengthening vision and the immune system. Vitamin D helps us to increase the absorption of calcium, and this benefit generally contributes to many functions of our bodies.

Minerals

One of the main minerals contained is selenium. This powerful antioxidant is linked to the reduction of cancer growth, although these claims have not been demonstrated. It is also a good source of iodine, in a highly absorbable form.

How to prepare healthy homemade butter?

Once you’ve learned how to make this delicious homemade butter, you won’t want to go back to buying margarines sold in supermarkets that aren’t healthy. With just two ingredients you can prepare a smooth and delicious butter, which can accompany other foods.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 organic sour cream.
  • 3/4 of a teaspoon of salt.

How to prepare?

  • In the glass of a blender or in a large jar with a lid that closes tightly, add the cream so that it does not reach halfway through the container.
  • Then start beating for 10 minutes or more, if necessary, until you get the desired texture. When hitting you will notice a white liquid that comes off the cream as the texture becomes firmer. This liquid is serum that, to make homemade butter, we will not need. However, if you prefer, you can reserve this serum to use in other recipes.
  • Continue beating very carefully until the cream releases as much whey as possible.
  • When eliminating the whey, add a pinch of salt and beat for another two minutes. Then, when the texture is even firmer, pass the homemade butter in water to facilitate the elimination of the remaining whey. Use a fine sieve to facilitate this procedure and presto, your healthy homemade butter will be ready when all the whey has been eliminated.
  • Finally, put the butter in a container and keep in the fridge. Well-kept, it can last up to a month.

Note: if desired, you can flavor the butter. For this, add fresh herbs such as thyme, basil, chives, among others, finely chopped.
