We often abuse dairy products due to the belief that these are the ingredients that provide the best flavor for our recipes. Also because we tend to believe that dairy products are the only foods that provide the necessary consistency, something that is not entirely true.

There are many foods that do not contain lactose that add consistency and flavor to recipes. This is the case with vegetable drinks, potatoes and other foods.

  • 2 medium potatoes

  • 2 cups of water or vegetable drink (500 ml)

  1. First, wash the leeks. When they’re ready, pick them up and take out the green part. Then cut the white part into thin slices. Also, cut the onion into rings and set aside.
  2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium pieces of an intermediate thickness (neither too thin nor too thick).

  • 1 1/3 cup wheat flour or cornstarch (200 g)
  • 1 1/2 cup of water (375 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal flakes (20 g)

  1. First, preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour with the oat flakes .
  3. Furthermore, add salt to the flour and stir with a spoon so that it is well integrated into the mixture.
  4. On the other hand, heat the water in the microwave for 3 minutes and then add it to the bowl.
  5. Then mix with slow, immersive movements to form a more or less thick paste.
  6. Also, sprinkle some flour on a surface and place the dough on top. Flatten several times with a rolling pin to knead well.
  7. Then, in a refractory mold, previously greased, place the dough and adjust it in the shape of the container. Then pierce the dough with a fork at several points so that it can “breathe” when baking.
  8. Afterwards, put the dough to bake for about 10 or 12 minutes, approximately, and once it is golden, pour the cream prepared beforehand on top.
  9. Let everything bake for 5 or 6 minutes longer (until the surface of the leek pie is well browned).
  10. Finally, turn off and open the oven. Cover the pie with a dry cloth and let it cool to room temperature for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
